This is a Security Statement of Evertouch Contacts Pty Ltd (Australia), hereinafter “evertouch®”.
evertouch® recognises the trust you place in us and we are committed to providing you with a secure online service that protects your personal information. Our team members are trained in our security policies and procedures and work diligently to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of your information.
Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with our security practices and let us know if you have any questions.
evertouch® uses industry-accepted security practices, including firewalls and encryption, to safeguard the security of your personal information. These controls allow us to properly authenticate your identity when you access our online services and help to protect your information as it travels over the Internet between our computers and your device. We also constantly monitor and assess the security of our systems.
With everything we’re doing to protect your information, keep in mind that it is also important for you to take precautions to safeguard personal information on your end.
Use of Firewalls
To protect data stored on our systems and to prevent unauthorized access, we employ firewalls where appropriate. Firewalls are security products that are intended to control and limit access to our network and computers.
evertouch® employs a layered security approach to help protect your identity and accounts. We encrypt your password using a one-way hashing algorithm before storing it in our database. That way the only person who knows what it is will be you. If you forget your password, or your account has been locked as a result of too many failed logins, you can request a reset and we will send an email to your registered email address with a link which will allow you to reset your password one time. Please note, the evertouch® team will never ask you for your password, either over the telephone or via email.
Automated Time Out
To provide additional protection, a time out feature is used on our website. This feature will automatically log you off of your current online session after a period of inactivity. Re-establishing and authenticating your credentials for your online session helps to reduce unauthorized access to your accounts.
Such protection on our mobile application is implemented only as a specific option in set in your preferences. The default will not implement a timeout, as we believe you can generally rely on the built in security features of your device, including Passcodes for protection.
Most web browsers have the ability to communicate securely with a website by encrypting the information as it passes across the Internet. This method of communication is called Secure Socket Layer (SSL). evertouch® requires the use of a browser which supports a minimum 128-bit SSL encryption to log into our website.
Our website is also registered with GeoTrust and uses GeoTrust SSL certificate(s). GeoTrust is an industry leader in website identification and encryption. Via your browser, GeoTrust allows you to confirm this website provider’s identity before transmitting any personal information.
Third Party Verification
evertouch® engages the services of independent third-party security specialists to perform security reviews of our online services and computer systems. We also utilize our service host and other third-party tools to monitor and maintain the security of our online systems. We keep the tools and utilities updated as needed to protect against known security risks.
Security is Your Responsibility Too
At evertouch® we take the safeguarding of your information seriously. However, even the best security measures can only prevent fraud if you are also vigilant about employing the necessary safeguards to protect your information.
You should make sure the software on your computer or device is kept up to date with the latest updates from the manufacturer, and where possible run anti-virus software for protection.
You should make your passwords difficult to guess by using a combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters. You should never give out your username, password or security question answers to anyone.
